CHELSEA VS TOTTENHAM: LATEST TEAM NEWS, INJURY LATEST, PREDICTED LINEUPS

Chelsea hope to have some of their injured stars back for their London derby against Tottenham on Thursday night.

Cole Palmer was back in the starting XI as the Blues rescued a point away to Aston Villa on Saturday night – denied a dramatic winner after Axel Disasi’s effort was ruled out by VAR.

Thiago Silva, who this week officially announced he will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, has undergone scans on a groin injury he suffered in Saturday’s draw, with his club hoping he can still have a role to play before the end of the season.

The veteran Brazilian became Chelsea’s 13th injured player with Enzo Fernandez, Raheem Sterling, Malo Gusto and Carney Chukwuemeka joining the absentee list.

Fernandez will miss the rest of the season having undergone surgery with Mauricio Pochettino expected to provide an update on the rest of his squad this week.

Reece James and Levi Colwill returned to ‘partial’ first-team training last week although their manager insisted they were not yet ready for selection last Friday.

Christopher Nkunku was also part of that small group in light training.

Tottenham meanwhile must quickly dust themselves down after their north London derby defeat to Arsenal.

Destiny Udogie is ruled out for the rest of the season with Oliver Skipp picking up a small knock that ruled him out of Sunday’s game.

Timo Werner was given the nod in attack against the Gunners but was replaced after just 31 minutes by Brennan Johnson with a hamstring injury that leaves him a doubt for the trip to west London.

Predicted Chelsea XI to face Tottenham: Petrovic, Chalobah, Disasi, Badiashile, Cucurella, Caicedo, Gallagher, Madueke, Palmer, Mudryk, Jackson

Predicted Tottenham XI to face Chelsea: Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Davies, Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson, Son
