WHY ARE ABUNDANT PATRIOT DEFENSE SYSTEMS NOT PROTECTING KHARKIV'S SKIES, ZELENSKYY QUESTIONS

Russian terror against Kharkiv takes on particular viciousness. Strengthening Ukraine's air defense and expediting the delivery of F-16 fighter jets are vital tasks, reports President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram channel.

"Kharkiv. Russian terror against the city takes on a particularly vicious form. Attempts to force over a million people into blackout, constant rocket strikes, and Shahed attacks. Now - airstrikes. Just along an ordinary street, at buildings, schools, and ordinary civilian infrastructure. At this time, one fatality is known. My condolences to the relatives and loved ones," the president wrote.

As noted by Zelenskyy, as of now, at least 19 injured people are known, including children, including a girl and a boy born in 2022 and 2023.

Currently, all services continue to work at the site of the attack.

Vital tasks

"Strengthening Ukrainian air defense, accelerating the provision of F-16 to Ukraine - these are vital tasks. There are and can be no rational explanations for why Patriots, which are plentiful in the world, have not yet closed the skies over Kharkiv and other of our cities and communities suffering from Russian terrorists," the president emphasized.

He also added that Ukraine works every day to strengthen the protection of its citizens.

Shelling of Kharkiv on March 27

Today, March 27, explosions were heard in Kharkiv during the day. Almost immediately, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov and the mayor of the city Ihor Terekhov announced a strike on a residential area.

As the head of the military administration said, partial destruction of two five-story buildings, a medical institution, an administrative building, and a public place is known. In total, 14 high-rise buildings and an educational institution were damaged as a result of the shelling.

According to Syniehubov, the terrorists attacked the city with a guided projectile UMPB D-30, which can be launched both from an aircraft and from the MLRS Smerch.
